PF2e Experience & Level-Up Rules - How It Works
In Pathfinder 2e, every character needs 1,000 XP to advance one level. XP resets to 0 after leveling up. The amount awarded per encounter depends on difficulty: Trivial 10 XP, Low 30 XP, Moderate 80 XP, Severe 120 XP, Extreme 160 XP. Every PC in the party gets the full amount, regardless of party size.
The XP tracker saves your progress automatically using your browser's localStorage - it persists across page reloads and browser restarts (as long as you use the same browser and haven't cleared site data). You can log custom XP amounts for milestone rewards, story events, or other non-combat awards.
Use the difficulty quick-add buttons after each session to log encounters in seconds. The session log tracks every entry with a description you can add for reference. Use the encounter calculator first to confirm encounter difficulty, then log it here. When you level up, use the treasure generator to plan loot for the new level.
